Sphere Of Activity in Northeast India

Angling : The magnificient snowed sparkling river ‘Jia Bhoroli’ of Assam is famous for angling. Angling competition is held every year at Jia Bhoroli where anglers gather all together in large number. Kapili and Manas are the other rivers perfect for angling in Assam. Bhalukpong is famous for angling on the river Kameng in Arunachal pradesh. Ranikor in Meghalaya is another famous spot for angling.

River Cruise : Brahmaputra one of the greatest rivers in Asia offers the wide scope for river cruise from Ninging to Dhubri, besides other water adventure sports.

Boat racing : Boat races are often organised at places such as Haju, Saulkuchi, Barpeta and Gwathi in Assam. Boat cruise in Assam is breathtaking during the festive occasions. The colourful annual boat race is held at Umgot River(Meghalya) in the spring season annually. Hiyang Tannaba Boat Race is held in the month of November at Tangapat(Manipur).

River rafting : It is thrilling to raft down in the Brahmaputra , passing through the north eastern states of Arunachal Pradesh and Assam. River rafting in the North-East parts is sure to leave a life time experience for the tourists. Tista and rangit rivers in Sikkim offers ideal location for river rafting.

Trekking : There are countless trekking routes in Arunahal Pradesh passing through waterfalls and forests area like Se La Pass, Tawang Chu and Margherita. Smit, Mawlyngot, Pynursla are some of the best trekking routes in Meghalaya. The adventureos land of Nagaland is is a trekkers Paradise, where trek route pass through local villages and forests area. Bakhim trek in Sikkim is most popular among the foreigners.

Caving : Explore the hills of Meghalaya to find caves and map them. The deepest and the longest of the caves in South-Asia are locates in the hills of the Kashi hills. Caves are located in all the districts of the State in Meghalya. Some of the famous caves in Mizoram are Pukzing cave, Milu Puk, Kungawrhi Puk, Lamsial Puk.

Mountain Biking : Mountain biking is the fastest growing adventure in North-East India. In most parts of the north and south Sikkim mountain Biking is gaining popularity. Biking is one of the incredible adventure sport in the rocky areas of North-East India. The hilly terrain area in Assam offers a good challenge to the mountain bikers.
